In the summer of 1993, I attended the NRA Engraving class at Lassen JC in Susanville, CA. I took my rifle along thinking it
might be a project to engrave, but the class structure didn't allow that. Another student liked my rifle so well that he had
me build this one as a mirror of mine. It has a 42 inch .45 cal Colrain barrel. Everything else is the same, but I did a
neater job with the patch box. Notice the silver oval inlayed into the breach of the barrel. It is stamped with my JV mark;
too bad it didn't show in the photo.
